Psara In Motion

It all began in 2024, on the 200th anniversary of the Destruction of Psara (1824), when the 1st Psara Memorial Run, the Memorial Torch Relay for the heroic fallen, provided the spark.

2025 was the year Psara earned its place on the country's sporting map. The 1st Psara Sports Festival proved to be much more than a successful event. It was proof that the small, heroic island of the North Aegean can host major sporting events, bring locals and visitors together, and showcase its inexhaustible potential through the power of sport.

In 2026 we take the next step.

Building on the experience and momentum created, the Municipality of the Heroic Island of Psara launches the Psara In Motion initiative, a comprehensive umbrella of sporting events spanning the whole season — from spring to autumn. A series of events, each with its own character, united under the shared vision that began with the Psara Sports Festival: to make Psara a modern, alternative tourist destination, where the natural environment, history and culture meet sport.

In this context, Psara In Motion expresses the island's transition from a place with a deep historical imprint into a living destination that keeps evolving and actively invests in its future, offering equal opportunities and creating modern experiences for residents and visitors. Through sport, we bridge distances and highlight the inexhaustible potential of this place.
